AC Milan overcame Parma 2-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza with Marco Borriello netting a brace.
Ronaldinho jinked his way down the left to the byline before laying the ball off for the striker who simply tucked the ball under the diving Antonio Mirante in the Parma goal in the 12th minute.
Leonardo had Dida to thank second earlier when the goalkeeper tipped Blerim Dzemalli’s fierce drive onto the crossbar, then in the 23rd minute palmed Valeri Bojinov’s close-range header away for a corner.
Pato had numerous opportunities to extend Milan’s lead but contrived to miss a free header from 12 yards out before going down in the Parma box with a shooting opportunity available to him late in the second half.
