Milan Defender Oguchi Onyewu Injured

Thursday, October 15, 2009 -- AC Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu is likely to be sidelined for several months after tearing his patella bone on the top of the knee joint while playing for the USA against Costa Rica on Wednesday.

The Milan defender suffered this injury when he was going for a header late in the match against Costa Rica in what was a meaningless CONCACAF qualifying match for them as the Americans had already qualified for the World Cup finals in South Africa next year and is now said to be out for between three and four months.

Onyewu had to be carried out on stretchers and this news is going to tense Milan coach Leonardo.
