Milan have revealed that defenders Daniele Bonera and Thiago Silva will not been seen in any official action until 2010.

"AC Milan announces that today medical examinations were performed on players Daniele Bonera and Thiago Silva," began a statement on the club's official website, acmilan.com.

"The first reported an elongation of the junction miotendinea soleus muscle of the left leg and is expected to return to the group after the Christmas break."

Bonera has yet to make an apperance in 2009-10, as injuries continue to plague his career.

The news for Thiago Silva is worse, and he is expected to miss around two months of action, but further tests will reveal the full extent of the damage he suffered during the match against FC Zurich.

"The examination of Thiago Silva emphasised a limited edema in the medial muscle of the left leg. For this reason, the Brazilian footballer will undergo specific training until next Tuesday, when he will receive additional medical tests."

The 25-year-old has been a key figure in the centre of defence for the Rossoneri, striking up a productive partnership with Alessandro Nesta this season.
