Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino will come up against his former side AC Milan this weekend, as the Viola look to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to Chievo Verona.

"We know what to correct in order to prepare for the challenge with Milan and I hope we can finish the year well," he was quoted as saying by uefa.com.

"A lord of this city? Let's not exaggerate. For me, it is a pleasure to play here. I am happy with my choice [to come to Florence]. I am doing well."

The Italian international was not a success at Milan, losing his place in the starting XI and becoming a fixture on the bench before opting to move to the Viola in 2008, where he has flourished.

"It's been a positive 2009 for me at Fiorentina, after a difficult year at Milan and I believe I have repaid their faith. However, now we must do even better."

The 27-year-old has scored ten goals in all competitions for the Viola in the 2009-10 campaign thus far.
